Dad Taught Us 4-Letter W#rds — Bible Edition
Life Lessons Through Faith & Scripture
Simple words. Timeless wisdom. Lessons guided by God's Word.
LIFE LESSONS
The words that guide us through life and faith.
LIFE has been my greatest teacher, but I've discovered that some of its most important lessons are also found in God's Word.
Coaching taught me teamwork and persistence. The car business taught me about WORK and relationships. Being a husband and DAD taught me LOVE, patience, and responsibility.
Through faith and Scripture, I've learned that these everyday experiences reflect timeless biblical wisdom worth sharing with my boys and future generations.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
FAITH & CHARACTER
God's Word guides our choices. Our actions reveal our character.
Faith and character are shaped by the choices we make, especially when LIFE becomes difficult. My faith in God has taught me to seek His guidance through prayer, hold on to HOPE, and treat others with LOVE and kindness.
I've learned that character isn't about perfection. It's about taking responsibility, learning from mistakes, helping others, and striving to make better choices the NEXT TIME.
Scripture reminds me that faith is more than what we believe. It's reflected in how we GIVE, LEAD, forgive, and LIVE each day.
“Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.” — Proverbs 20:11 (KJV)
FAMILY & RELATIONSHIPS
God's love strengthens the bonds that bring us together.
Some of LIFE's greatest blessings come from the people God places in our lives. Family, friends, and teammates teach us how to LOVE, forgive, listen, and care for one another.
I've learned that HOME is more than a place. It's the TIME we share, the patience we practice, and the BOND we build through faith, kindness, and understanding.
Scripture reminds me that strong relationships are built on LOVE, forgiveness, and putting others before ourselves. The way we treat those closest to us becomes part of the legacy we leave behind.
“And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” — Colossians 3:14 (KJV)
DECISION-MAKING
God's wisdom helps guide the choices that shape our lives.
Every day, LIFE presents us with choices. Some are small, while others can change our direction. I've made good decisions, poor decisions, and plenty I've learned from along the way.
I've learned that making WISE choices sometimes means knowing when to STOP, WAIT, seek God's guidance through PRAYER, and take TIME to consider the PATH ahead.
Scripture reminds me that wisdom comes from listening, seeking counsel, and trusting God's direction. We won't always choose the perfect PATH, but faith can give us the courage to TURN when necessary and MOVE forward with greater understanding.
“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.” — Proverbs 12:15 (KJV)
SUCCESS & GOALS
True success comes from faith, perseverance, and purpose.
Success means different things throughout LIFE. Sometimes it's reaching a GOAL, celebrating a win, or learning from a LOSS. I've discovered that God can teach us valuable lessons through both victories and setbacks.
I've learned that achieving meaningful goals requires a PLAN, hard WORK, patience, and faith to keep taking the NEXT STEP, even when the journey becomes difficult.
Scripture reminds me that success isn't simply about where we finish, but who we become along the way. With God's guidance, we can appreciate the WINS, learn from the losses, and pursue a purpose greater than ourselves.
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 3:14 (KJV)
REFLECTION & PERSPECTIVE
God's wisdom helps us understand the PAST and move forward with faith.
LIFE teaches us lessons we don't always recognize at first. Sometimes God uses unexpected experiences to help us STOP, reflect on the PAST, and discover wisdom we might otherwise overlook.
I've learned that wisdom comes from recognizing our mistakes, appreciating our blessings, and trusting God's guidance as we seek to make better choices.
Scripture reminds me that reflection isn't about remaining stuck in yesterday's mistakes. It's about strengthening our faith, holding on to HOPE, and moving forward with greater purpose.
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12 (KJV)
